PEACE AMID CULTURAL CHAOS
Discussed by Dr. Heather Clark
with Institute for Faith and Culture (www.institutefc.org/)
Part 1 of 2
Stressors such as anger, anxiety, dread, hate, and fear have invaded our homes, families, work places, relationships, and community like the frogs that invaded Egypt.
Dr. Heather Clark is a licensed psychologist with a nationwide private practice that focuses on Christian leaders. Dr. Clark is a professional speaker, former seminary professor, and author of "Minister Well: 52 Tools for Ministry Leaders".
Today, Dr. Clark offers hope and encouragement in the midst of chaotic world.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
Why are more and more people suffering from stressors in their day-to-day life?
Does every Christian have the ability to directly and beneficially impact those around them?
Does God’s Word provide clear instructions for Christians to foster peace?
Dr. Clark references Romans 12:18 “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
Is the command to live peacefully with others a command for Christians to be pacifists or apathetic?
PART 2 OF 2 - PEACE AMID CULTURAL CHAOS
Discussed by Dr. Heather Clark
with Institute for Faith and Culture (www.institutefc.org/)
Questions/Issues Discussed:
Does the news affect our mood and how we view others, causing us stress?
Social media can be a good thing for work connections and keeping up with family
and friends. But can social media also hinder our relationship with God and
others? Dr. Clark has some great advice, encouraging us to establish a “filter”:
Would Jesus like my post/comment?
Why it is important for Christians to stand firm in their faith, never
compromising God’s truth and commandments?
Is it ever too late to learn more about God and commit to studying His Word?
Is screen time hindering our in-person quality time? Dr. Clark says: “We
need to protect our relationships. We are forgetting that people are people.”
How can we all be intentional to live every day to the fullest?

PART 2 - A BIBLICAL APPROACH TO RELATIONAL CONFLICT
Discussed by David Fleming
with Lanier Theological Library (www.LanierTheologicalLibrary.org)
Day 5
HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED CONFLICT IN A RELATIONSHIP? I THINK WE ALL HAVE – SOME MORE THAN OTHERS!
Last week, former CFBC Pastor David Fleming subbed in for Mark, teaching on the Biblical approach to relational conflict. This week, he completes that lesson with more fantastic Biblical solutions for every type of relationship – marriage, friendship, church, and work.

QUESTIONS / ISSUES DISCUSSED:
WHAT ARE WE TO DO THEN? (Points For Home)
Follow Jesus’ plan. Limit the people involved to only the people involved. (Matthew 18:15-17)
Focus on the conflict. Don’t focus on the emotions you are feeling. Remember that the conflict and the process of resolution are personal.
Extend forgiveness, but don’t be a doormat! Remember that it is okay to set boundaries. Also remember that sometimes you just have to let it go. (Matthew 18:21-22)
Return to the mission! Get over the anger and emotion, make a decision for resolution, discuss the problem, and heal. (Proverbs 19:21; 1 Corinthians 9:6; Timothy 4:11)

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Discussed by Pastor Emory Cothen
with Champion Forest Baptist Church (www.ChampionForest.org)
Day 5
Why is it so hard for us to wait – to be patient? What are we missing in the waiting period?
This week, CFBC Young Adults Pastor Emory Cothen encourages us to wait on the Lord patiently using the words of David from Psalm 62.

Questions/Issues Discussed:
WAIT ON GOD IN HIS PROMISES (vs 9-12)
When David was waiting on the Lord, he remembered and focused on God’s promises. What promises can you focus on?
What blessings has God bestowed upon you throughout your life? (Philippians 1:6) Remember those promises in the waiting.
Remember the times when God showed up and moved mountains for you.
Are you expecting God to answer your prayer immediately? Pastor Emory quotes his Life Group Leader: “A delayed response to prayer is not God punishing you.”
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Stop holding on to stuff! Surrender everything else to God.
Even if your problem doesn’t go away, trust in God completely. He is always enough!
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, text the word JESUS to 77069 and a pastor or counselor from CFBC will call you back.

PRAYER
Discussed by Terry Lowry
with Host of the What's UP Radio Program

Most Gracious, Merciful, and Loving Father,
We lift our prayers and praise to you, for you alone are worthy.
You sit as the refiner, as refining silver and gold.
You hold each of us over the fires of life, refining all impurities out of our lives, as we willingly allow you to purify each of us.
You do not leave us alone, not even for a second, but are always watching as our impurities are discarded.
May nothing hinder our walk with you, Lord.
Hold us each over the fire until all that can be seen in the reflection is you, O Lord.
May we conform to your image, by and through Jesus Christ,
Amen
